Buying a laptop for my RP use

I’m looking to buy a laptop from the approved vendors for RP and all of the laptop are like $1.2k+ which is quite pricey, looking at the specs also its so high, like what could I possibly do to NEED these kind of specs, are there any budget but still compatible laptop for my use. I know for different course there is different needs and I already have the requirement specs needed

Confuse on orientation date for republic poly pfp

I’m confuse about the orientation dates for RP. It says for pfp students there’s an orientation date on 7 apr. But Moe website says 13 Apr is the official start date for pfp students. So will there be orientation on 13 Apr too? Did any pfp seniors who went through a similar path have their orientation on the official starting date of poly or is it 1 week before the official start?
